Celebrity Guest: Matt Willig

Born and raised in Southern California, Matthew Willig is the fifth of six boys, and grew up in a sports-oriented family. In High School, Matthew excelled in both football and basketball, and his athletic abilities earned him a football scholarship to the prestigious University of Southern California, where he lettered all four years as a defensive end and was voted “Most Inspirational Player” his senior year. During his college career, he had three Rose Bowl appearances, winning one in 1990. Soon after graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Willig went undrafted in the NFL but signed as a free agent to the New York Jets. After being moved to the O-line, he spent a total of 14 years in the NFL, also playing for the Atlanta Falcons, Green Bay Packers, St. Louis Rams, San Francisco 49ers, and the Carolina Panthers. In 1999, with the Rams, he won Super Bowl XXXIV and made a second Super Bowl appearance in 2004 with the Carolina Panthers, which ended in a loss to the Patriots. In 2000, Willig began his acting career with booking commercials being filmed during his off-seasons. After he retired in 2005, he began what is now over 20 years as a full-time actor. His credits are highlighted by prominent roles in We're the Millers, Concussion, Young Rock, NCIS, Dexter, Year One, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and over 75 more credits from TV and film. Matthew's greatest source of pride comes from having raised 2 amazing daughters.
